According to a study published in 2017 by the journal Clinical Toxicology, about 1.3 million Americans are at risk of making a deadly mistake of mixing medications. More people are killed each year from deadly medication interactions than die annually from car accidents - and another familiar name has become part of that statistic.
Although Tom Petty died October 2nd of last year, it wasn't until just recent that we learned the truth of the cause. According to an autopsy report released by the late singer's wife and daughter, Petty suffered and overdose that was caused by a variety of medication, namely fentanyl and oxycodone.
